Another World
Trevor sleeps to escape from life. No matter how angry, worried, or sad he is, he can go to sleep and forget about all of his problems for a little while. It has always really irked me! (Yes, Irked!) It is so completely unfair! I am infamous for being a worrier, and I definitely cannot sleep with my emotions raging. I have been so completely jealous all these years that he has a way to escape the troubles of life, but I do not.
Last week, I found my escape - Stephanie Meyer's books! I first got Twilight because I was curious to see what all the hype was about. And boy, I was not disappointed. Every time I opened the book I completely fell into the story. I even found my thoughts drifting to Edward and Bella's (characters in Twilight) lives throughout my day. I needed to know what was going to happen next to them. I even went as far as relating vampire characteristics to my everyday life. I got angry yesterday, and I said to Trevor, "I could just attack her right now and suck her blood." He looked at me like I was crazy, and I realized I probably was. But I love it!
I am already on the second of the series, which is titled New Moon. I love that every day I can travel into another world. I never want it to end...I am lucky it is a long series.

Make Face Time
I have always been one to enjoy talking. In high school, if you heard whispering during class it was probably me. Sometimes I talk and end up saying too much - I have to remind myself to think before I speak. And every once in awhile, I will get a wave of energy the moment I turn my reading light off to turn in for the night and start talking uncontrollably until Trevor will tell me to relax and go to sleep. Please!
And now, there are so many different ways to talk with each other that even I cannot seem to keep up sometimes. There is obviously the phone and e-mail, and now there is Facebook, Blogging, and Twitter. With each one I have a love hate relationship. I love how quickly I can connect, yet I hate that I am always (and I mean always) connected. The best part is that I get to meet new friends every day, and we can all learn more about each other.

2009
At the end of 2008 I reflected on my year over and over, and I was so amazed how blessed I have been. With the health of my family, the love of my husband, and the ability to wake up and do what I love each and every day. I am so thankful. The thing that I am most amazed by though is how much my business has grown just in the past six months. On any given day, it feels like I am only moving inch by inch, but looking back over the whole I have moved miles.
So when 2009 arrived, I had no idea what was going to be in store for the new year. And to my surprise, I am already blown away. My business is already in an entirely different place than it was even two weeks ago. I just keep shaking my head in amazement. One of the most exciting things that has happened is that my website is a finalist in the Showit Sites of the year contest! WOW! I cannot wait to see what 2009 holds for me and my business!
And on a side note, my biggest New Year's resolution is to do everything that I want to do. There are always those things that you think, "Someday I would love to..." but you just don't do it. I want to do it all! There is always the fear that it is stupid, or it won't turn out the way you think it will, or that you might fail, but I keep saying what is the worst that could happen? One of the first things that I did was take a Surrey Ride (horse drawn sleigh ride) on the top of the hill at Crystal Mountain on the little trip we took for our second wedding anniversary last weekend. Sounds romantic right? That is what we thought, but as it turned out it was us with three other families along with their screaming children. We laughed the entire time! It wasn't what we thought, but we did it and had fun.
And, so you get a good Friday laugh, here is a few pictures of me in front of an extremely large chicken! It is one of the things that I just wanted to do, for no reason really, just that I wanted to do it. And I am so glad I did! I have wanted a picture of me beside this chicken for years! Enjoy!
