Football

Football season will be in full swing starting tomorrow! (Go Bucks!) And I have to be honest, if there is any sport that I would choose to watch, it would be football. I absolutely love the sport! My brother, Trevor, has his second game tonight. And, yes, I am the sister that screams every time his name is announced over the loud speaker for making a tackle. My other little brother, Matt, is a ball boy this year, and he absolutely loves it! Good luck Bluestreaks and Go #50!

My Little Brother

My birthday did not make me feel old. Yes, life is going fast, and yes, I do have to say that I am in my mid-20's now. But, what made me feel old was looking through the camera at my little brother and realizing how old he is. When I took his senior pictures, I almost had to take a step back a minute just to gather myself. I see him often, not often enough, but I guess I hadn't truly looked at him in a long time. I still picture him around the age of ten, the little brother that I always protected. Now, he could definitely protect me. Looking through a camera made me take the time to look at him in a different way - the way he is now. He is not my little anymore, but he will always be my little brother. Enjoy - more to come soon!

24th Birthday!

Saturday was my birthday so we celebrated all weekend long!  It was all about me, and it was much needed.  I woke up on Saturday to Trevor bringing me breakfast, birthday card in hand.  The card stated that we were going to go to IKEA!  Now, this may not sound like much to you, but I have been wanting to make the pilgrimage for over a year.  With birthday money in hand, we headed out for our day trip.

We had to stop to eat right before we got there so that we could make it through the entire store.

Here I am in front of IKEA!  I was so excited!  This was before I knew what I was getting myself into.

WARNING:  I do not recommend going to IKEA without having an idea of what you want.  This is not a store to wander in.  I had a great time, but next time I am going with a list!

Then in the evening, I took my leftover money to the mall and got a much needed pair of jeans and a new fall purse!  We went out to dinner, and saw lots of friends.

Sunday, I went to my family's house for lunch.  Gabe made me this great sign.  I was absolutely spoiled by the boys.  They are the biggest sweethearts.  Each of them got me a piece of jewelry, so of course I had to put all of it on.  By the end, I felt like I was playing Pretty, Pretty Princess again.

I got to see Isaac's rock collection too.

I had a great time with my family.  Then I had supper at Trevor's parents house.  I was fed all day - more like all weekend!  It was a great birthday!  Thank you to all.

Happy Friday

Everyone should smile every single day. There is usually one moment in each day that something just makes me feel purely happy. No feeling other than just happiness. This picture did that for me today, and I hope that it does the same for you. Have a happy Friday!

Sneaky Smile

I couldn't resist giving a quick preview of Jace's recent nine month session! As I have been editing these images, I have not stopped smiling. Jace's personality shines through each photo, whether he is straight faced, yelling, using his fake cough to get sympathy, or giving us this sneaky smile.

Melinda

This week absolutely flew by...this whole year is flying by. And as it usually happens with a new school year beginning, it feels as if life is flying by. My baby brother and his girlfriend, Melinda, are both seniors this year. Trevor adores Melinda, and now I can say that I truly see why. She is fun and loves to laugh, never taking life too seriously. She is not only smart but also knows what she wants. She can pull off multiple looks, from being adorable to drop dead gorgeous. She fits in perfectly with our crazy family, but most of all she can put up with my brother. And not only put up with him, but make him a better person when she is around. To say the least, I approve of her 100%!

Growing Family

A family can change overnight, and I am sure that it feels as if it has for the Kauffmans. They went from sitting at the quiet dinner table with their grown daughters and their husbands to passing crying children across the table to each other amidst passing plates to the left. But I know Doug and Norma would not have it any other way. You can see the love that they have for their grandchildren and how much they truly just enjoy them. I don't see how they couldn't.

[I love this image!  Everyone is waiting for him to finish his bottle.]

Young and Beautiful

Yesterday was so much fun! I spent three hours photographing Melinda, and I swear it felt like ten minutes. We had such a great time together! I just couldn't wait to show some of my favorite images. I am sure I will be posting more in the days and weeks to come because she is just so darn cute in every single image - more like gorgeous! Let me know what you think!

#1 Fan

If there is one thing you should know about my husband, this is it. It is probably something you would never expect; it just seems as if he doesn't quite fit the bill. He is a Kenny Chesney fan!

And not just any Kenny Chesney fan. He is a fan that goes to three concerts a summer, and would go to every single one if he could find some kind of sponsorship deal. He is a fan that reads Kenny's fan page daily and checks YouTube for the latest videos. Somehow he is the first to know that a new song has been recorded and when it will be released. He can even rattle off the dates of his tour and name the line-up for each concert. He even goes to the extent of reading critic reviews after each concert, and then I get to hear him disagree. Sometimes I feel he has become a critic himself the way he analyzed the last concert we went to.

The only thing that seems to come before Kenny Chesney, in his book, is Ohio State football. I found this to be a fact recently. There is a Kenny concert in Indiana at the end of the summer that he had wanted to go to, but Ohio State plays the same day. Without hesitation, he said he couldn't go because he would be at home watching his buckeyes.

Since we went to our last Kenny concert of the summer last Saturday (at least I think it was the last) I decided it would be a good time to reminisce and share Trevor's love of Kenny Chesney. Hopefully you will see why he enjoys him so much. I have to admit, he does throw a great party!

[trevor and me at Cleveland concert, trevor's 2nd of the summer]

[my cousins joined us for this one]

[me and trevor last saturday in Detroit, trevor's 3rd concert]

[It is an all day event starting at 4pm and going to 11pm.  Luke Bryant opened, then Gary Allan, then LeAnn Rimes]

[then Keith Urban]

[so many people!]

[trevor getting very excited]

[Uncle Kracker came out towards the end of the concert]

And of course, Trevor's voice was gone after the concert! You wouldn't be a #1 fan if it wasn't.
